Faith Based Counseling
What’s Faith Got To Do With It?
Religious faith and conviction are important for most people. Faith informs values, which have a direct impact on psychological functioning. Discussion and exploration of spiritual matters is an important aspect of therapy for many clients, so all of the clinicians at GPA seek to be respectful of and sensitive to their clients’ beliefs. People of strong faith often feel more comfortable meeting with a counselor who shares their beliefs, so potential clients may request a counselor on this basis.
