Serving the community for over 35 years

Providing the highest quality of care for children, adolescents, adults, and families.

It has been too long since I have updated the introduction to our Website. From the first confirmed case of COVID-19 in Tennessee on March 5, 2020, we all entered a time of unreal experiences. When I first started my work as a Clinical Psychologist in the U.S. Army, I could never have imagined what all of us were about to experience in dealing with the issues to come, related to COVID-19. The World was tilted on its edge. When everything was shut down, we were allowed to continue working at the office given that “Mental Health” was designated an essential area. We quickly trained all our clinicians to provide services via Zoom and other HIPAA qualified video formats. I am very proud of our clinicians and staff for being able to adapt to the constantly changing emergency orders so that we could work with our patients. I also want to thank our patients who had to put up with the way we had to sometimes feel our way through the labyrinth of obstacles to get work done. Needless to say, the last couple of years during the Pandemic, many people have experienced a great deal of stress and distress, loneliness, isolation, and anxiety. It was wonderful to see those individuals who reached out to help others, even though it was not always clear what was needed.

We are in a different time now, though the World certainly hasn’t returned to its pre-pandemic state. During the Pandemic, we lost a dear friend and colleague, Dr. Joe Angelillo. We also had a couple of clinicians leave the practice – one to retire and the other to move down to Mississippi. On a positive note, a new clinician is going to be joining the practice soon. We continue to provide the highest quality care to our patients. We have six full time clinicians in addition to a medical consultant who together, make up a dynamic practice with an incredible amount of experience. We continue to grow and work hard to provide the very best treatment for our patients.

WE ARE SEEING PATIENTS IN PERSON AND VIA TELEHEALTH

When the Pandemic first began for us in March of 2020, in order to continue to take care of our patients, the office spent many hours preparing to transition patient care solely over to Telehealth. For those who have not experienced Telehealth, it is similar to video conferencing, only we use a HIPAA Compliant program which encrypts all communication between therapist and patient. Many insurance companies we work with agree to cover the use of Telehealth.

Many of our patients are coming to the office in person now.  However, we will continue to maintain Telehealth as one of the tools to use in order to provide therapy where it is appropriate to utilize with patients. The use of Telehealth will be determined by your clinician depending on your individual needs and appropriateness to the situation.
